National Education Summit

The Stand-Up Project (SUP) is a peer-led training program designed for primary and secondary students, teachers, and families to address poor behaviors, discrimination, harassment, and bullying. Founded by Dr. Zach Greig, SUP emphasizes student leadership, agency, and voice, empowering students to become Upstanders and contribute to a positive school culture.

Key highlights of SUP include:

  • Peer-Led Education: Students teach their peers and families how to identify and address poor behaviors.

  • Bystander Effect Education: Training based on research to safely and effectively intervene.

  • Collective Responsibility: Framing poor behavior as a cultural issue for all students to address.

  • Community Development Approach: Building collective agency to influence school norms positively.

SUP offers numerous benefits such as increased self-confidence, leadership skills, reduced discrimination, and improved collaboration. The program structure includes foundational training, train-the-trainer sessions, co-facilitated sessions with teachers and families, and thorough evaluation.

Join SUP at the National Education Summit in Melbourne from 14-15 June 2024 to learn more about how this program can benefit your school community. For more information, visit The Stand-Up Project and National Education Summit.
